The VRR has been offering over seven million people in sixty-two communities a low-cost, modern and convenient alternative to driving for over twenty-five years. Their partners include twenty-five local public transport companies, Deutsche Bahn AG, the German state owned railways, as well as three additional private railway companies.
More than four million people travel on their lines every day, over a quater of them regularly. To suit individual needs, they offer a wide variety of tickets with different types of validity periods and zones.
Before you head to the bus or train station, be sure to visit the VRR journey planner. Enter your point of departure and destination and it will tell you the fastest connection and how much your ticket will cost.
All the modes of transport, be they bus, tram or train offered by the transportation companies named below are integrated into the regional transport network Verkehrsverbund Rhein Ruhr. The VRR serves the greater Rhine-Ruhr area, the largest metropolitan zone in continental Western Europe.
